Toowoomba City Bowls Club

Established in 1938, the club has earned the reputation as 'the friendliest little club in town'.

Located right in the heart of Toowoomba’s CBD in Victoria Street, the Toowoomba City Bowls Club is just a short walk from major shopping centres, accommodation, theatres, restaurants and fashion houses.

With a membership of approx 100 men and 30 ladies, Toowoomba City is one of the smaller clubs in size in the district.

Toowoomba City Bowls Club currently has one well manicured dwarf green and can cater for a maximum of 64 bowlers at any one time.

The greens are going through changes in line with the major construction of the QIC Gardentown/Grand Central Shopping Centre redevelopment and on completion a beautiful new half green will be in use by end of 2016.

Members and guests have been fortunate to view the redevelopment on a weekly, month by month basis, and have been working hand in hand with Probuild to better the CBD to serve the Toowoomba and Regional community.

The clubhouse is one of the better venues to watch a game with large viewing windows or to relax and play one of our six up to the minute gaming machines.

Our members are always ready with a smile and willing to give new players the advice and tips they need to improve their game.

Toowoomba City Bowls Club is the best little club in town!

The club is fully licensed with our own bar, dining area and pokies. It's the perfect place to catch up with members while enjoying a tasty beverage.
Free off-street parking for up to 40 members is provided.

The Club’s dining area caters for up to 90 people seated and is available for functions, self catered wedding receptions, 21st birthday parties, meetings and seminars by appointment.

The club has BBQ facilities and the greens may be hired for social groups, why not the next work social get together or Christmas Party.

In the last six months a take away and eat in café has been established in the Club Dining area to cater during the hours of 4.00am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday and 4.00am to 10.30am Saturdays. Why not drop in for breakfast or lunch at affordable and tasty prices.

The greens are usually closed for maintenance on Mondays.

The bowls match calendar runs from February to November yearly.

Members are not expected to play competition if they do not wish to do so. Some members play social games only.

Men’s social bowls matches are conducted on Wednesdays commencing at 1.00pm.
Ladies Day is Friday with social and competition matches commencing from 9.30am.

Jackpot Pairs are played on the first Sunday of the month, where prize money for teams jackpots each time it is not won. On most week-ends there is organized competition, social or inter-club matches organized. The Club also enters teams in the District Pennants competition.

Practice and roll-up sessions are free and are conducted on Tuesday afternoons or by appointment with the club’s coaching staff on hand to provide their expertise.

Saturdays and Sundays are usually set aside for club competition and sponsored mixed social play, e.g. President’s days, Business Sponsored Days, Patron Day and ask about “Ham Day”.

March and November are set aside for Sunday Corporate Social Bowls Days from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, trophies and prizes are given at the end of the month’s competition. This is great opportunity for businesses to enter teams to advertise, socialize and generally have fun and really great way to meet fellow businesses in the Toowoomba.

Each Friday evening from 5.00pm is our Members Social evening with raffles of fantastic usable prizes, nibblies and discounted beverages. On the first Friday of the month a cash draw takes place where members can pick up a monetary prize if they are present. Members can participate in Fred’s Fad, a draw that allows members only to enter and win free ticketed beverages from the club bar.

The Ladies and Men’s sections of the club are amalgamated under the one banner with a Board of Directors overseeing the day to day running of the club. For the 2015 year the Club Management is:
Chairman of the Board is Mr Trevor Green
Secretary is Mr Graham Healy
Treasurer is Mr Bob Kroh
President of the Men’s section is Mr Fred Reynolds
President of the Ladies section is Mrs June Irvine
